We had some time to kill at the mall today while waiting for my new glasses to be ready, so we decided to let Landon ride the train, then if he wanted, go see Santa. We didn't expect that he'd actually go up to him, since he's not usually much for strangers. Not only did he go up to Santa, but he even sat on his lap, talked to him (told him he wanted cars for Christmas), and smiled nicely for a picture. We were so proud of how friendly he was!
Also, here's tonight's easy craft project: we made a shaker instrument. I stapled two paper plates together to make a pocket, then Landon poured in dried beans, and I stapled it the rest of the way shut. He decorated it with Christmas stickers, then... Shake, shake, shake!

Trunk or Treat
We went to my parents' church's Trunk or Treat on Sunday. Landon got to wear his blue bunny costume for the first time; he was very excited about that. The event ended up being indoors because of the weather, but it worked just fine. It took Landon a bit to get the hang of "trick or treating," but he picked it up well toward the end, so hopefully he'll do well with the actual Trick or Treating on Friday.

In the Garden
We've been getting ripe roma tomatoes for a week or two now. Landon loves to point at the green ones and say, "Green tomato!" But yesterday he asked if one was a pear. Silly kid.

Good, cheap fun
Landon found an old squirt bottle lying around today, so he picked it up and said, "That yours?"
I said, "Yeah, it's mine, but I don't use it."
To which he replied, "That mine?" So I cleaned it out and filled it up with water for him to squirt. This entertained him for a looong time.
It's a good outdoor summer activity, but it would make a good rainy day activity too. Landon found the bottle while I was cleaning the bathroom, so for a long while, he stood in the shower and squirted it around. (Of course, the shower floor will get wet, so please be careful your child doesn't slip.)
