When you were a kid, did you put Queen Anne's Lace in colored water to make the flowers change colors? I think I did this every time I found the flowers in our yard. Now it's Landon's turn!
I found some Queen Anne's Lace outside yesterday, so I picked it and stuck it in a glass of water. This evening, Landon and I discussed that the flowers are currently white, and then he got to choose a color to turn the water. He picked purple. He helped me add blue and red food coloring to the water, which made for a good lesson on blue+red=purple. (And we also talked about how adding green would just give us a murky mess.) Now we're just waiting to see if the flowers will turn purple.

I don't think I've ever heard of this. When did you do this? What yard had Queen Anne's Lace?
I recall you doing this several times as kids.
You and Landon can come to Nachusa and pick all the Queen Anne's Lace he wants, as we have plenty and would love to eliminate it!
I have never heard of this; neat idea! My little scientist Donny loves picking flowers, so I bet he would enjoy watching them change color.
